A very RubisRubis Ruffian, on a gorgeous base : Gilded Lily by Sally Hansen, dupe or almost of OPI Golden Eye and SpaRitual Solstice. A very warm, very yellow gold. With sometimes some tiny green and pink sparkles when the light is very strong. A foil/glassflecks hybrid. Super shiny. I’m in love. Only tiny problem : the flecks don’t stick just as much on the tip of the nails, probably because of the way the brush strokes it. It’s even more visible on my pictures because I had worn the color for a day before taking pictures. So I added one more coat and top coat, but it didn’t completely conceal it. I also throw in a phone picture, taken one sunny morning while waiting for the bus, just to show you how shiny it can be. Here’s Gilded Lily in three (well, four but the fourth wasn’t needed) coats :
Then, on top of that so-me color, I put another so-me color, following a so-me design : Ruffian. To do so, I used a medium small brush, traced the curve, filled it, and then did two more coats with the polish’ brush. Revlon All Fired Up needed three coats to completely hide the shine of Gilded Lily. So with the base, the three coats of GL, the top coat, one more GL, one more top coat, three coats All Fired Up, and top coat, I’ve got eleven effin’ coats. But that’s me, I always overdo everything. If I had done it all at once, I would have needed eight. That’s still a lot but I don’t care about that kind of stuff anymore, as long as it dries and the nails don’t look ridiculously thick.

Today I bought my first Sèche Vite bottle. I didn’t experiment enought to notice any difference with Essie’s Good To Go, except for one thing : THE SMELL. I am completely insensitive to polish and acetone smells, I can eat and paint my nails at the same time, but this smells like Sharpie. It’s icky. If I don’t notice any further difference with GTG this will definitely draw the line.
And I fell for another Layla Ceramic Effects that I can’t wait to swatch!
Good day pretties!
